Unfortunately this week's training is again cancelled due to the weather

I am writing this as once again it is raining. As you are probably aware attached with this e-shot, we have once again had to cancel Friday Junior Cricket Training. Our ground is the wettest it has been for some time and young player safety is always paramount when making these decisions.

The past couple of weeks have been a ‘washout’ for Junior Training and indeed a lot of weekend matches.

It will not have gone unnoticed by those of you following the current ICC Cricket World Cup that it has suffered the most amounts of rain forced match abandonments in its history.

On a more positive note it has been good to see the numbers on the few Friday’s we have been able to train, including some new members as well. We must also mention our 23 ‘first timers’ on our All Stars programme. Hopefully these will transition into our U9’s age group for next season.

With the current weather we are having it is hard to believe that in 10 days’ time it will be Mid-Summer for 2019!

So moving forward:

Next week’s Junior Training - FRIDAY 21st June 2019 – is cancelled! Oh no WHY?

Well, hopefully we will be blessed with sunny weather allowing our most important Club event to take place, namely.

Oxton XI v The PCA England Masters XI

The Club are asking all juniors and their families to support this event. Over the past few years this has been a great day for the Club with good entertainment. The Match is a T20 fixture and starts around 3:30pm, so come straight after school and watch the players hitting those Sixes and Fours around the ground.

After the game there is plenty of opportunity for photos and autographs with the England Masters Players.
But it doesn’t end there. With food and drink available throughout the evening why not relax and listen to the Live Band that will be playing by the main pavilion! So come along and make this a great day for the Club.

Whilst the Club have the Big Marquee up, we also have an extra fantastic night of entertainment the following day. So make it a double day of supporting the Club and attend the Cabaret Night as well, on the Saturday.

With the drier weather we are all praying for, Junior training will continue on Friday 28th June 2019, normal times.

Thank you to all juniors and parents for your support so far, let’s make next week a great success!
