Liam Tollady and Ed Tilliard led the Oxton attack and it was Liam who took Oxton's 1st wicket LBW with 22 on the board.
Ed bowled a tight 6 over spell and deserved more when Jack Breheny replaced him. It wasn't to be Jack's day unfortunately and Luke Filer took over along with 'Rhino' Fairclough with it proving to be a day for spinners.
Bowdon were bowled out in their final over for 174 with Fairclough taking a credible 7-54 off 15 overs and Filer finishing with figures of 2-51.
In reply, Oxton opened the innings with Tom Green and Jack Breheny after a good partnership the previous week.
Oxton lost Jack (0) in the 2nd over bringing Luke Filer to the middle. Tom Green again showed his maturity with a solid 18 before being caught and bowled.
The skipper joined Filer at the crease at 66-2 with the game finely balanced.
The pair went on to make an unbeaten 100+ partnership with Filer ending his innings 94 not out and Gauntlett 46 not out.
It was a gritty performance which saw oxton record their first victory of the season securing 25 points.
Oxton will host Widnes at Townfield Lane next weekend hoping to build on a very good performance.
