Oxton Padel - Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a court?

You can book through the Playtomic app, finding our club (Oxton Padel) and picking any date and time that is free. On completion of your booking you will receive a code to allow access through the roadside gate at the time of your booking.
Padel members will be able to book up to 18 days in advance whereas non Padel members will only be able to book up to 7 days in advance.

How do I become a Padel member?

Please click here to see our membership options and a full list of Padel membership benefits which include discounts and an early booking advantage.

How long can we play for?
Bookings of 60 minutes or 90 minutes are available.

Is there parking available?

We have parking available in our car park near the main Clubhouse either side of Townfield Lane. From there it’s just a short walk down the pavement to the padel courts and through the roadside gate, using your code from Playtomic. However, if you have any trouble please ring the bell and one of our staff will be able to help you in.

Why is there so much sand on the courts?

This is perfectly normal for new courts. Initially the court surface may be rather sandy but very soon a uniform playing surface will form naturally especially as a result of rainfall and initial play.

Which gate should we use to enter into the padel courts?

Please enter via the new roadside gate. This will always be accessible when the courts are open (8am to 10pm).
When you book Playtomic will give you a code which you simply enter into the keypad to access through the roadside gate. If you have any trouble please ring the bell and one of our staff will let you in.

What times are the courts available to book?

Anytime between 8am and 10pm, 7 days a week. If you would be interested in playing between 7-8am then please get in touch by email to info@oxtoncricketclub.com and we can look at this option in the future if there is enough interest.

What’s happening to the mound?

We will be re-shaping and landscaping the area into an attractive grass bank as soon as the weather improves for a sustained period.

How do we turn the lights on?

The lights will automatically turn on during the evenings whilst there are bookings active.

Are there toilets?

Yes, we have toilets down at the padel courts next to the kiosk. Toilets will also be available in the main clubhouse which will be accessible when the bar is open.

Is there food and drink available?

We have a selection of snacks down at padel alongside a wide variety of hot drinks and soft/energy drinks.
At the times set out below guests are invited to head up to the main Clubhouse where alcoholic drinks will also be available to be enjoyed often alongside live cricket or televised Sky Sports.

Saturday 12:00 – 21:30

You can also purchase more advanced rackets as well as tins of balls from the kiosk,

Is there seating in the padel area?

Currently there are picnic benches placed around the kiosk for players and spectators to use, the perfect place to sit and have a drink after a match. There are also court side benches for your belongings.
We do intend to install a shelter from the elements as well as some more comfortable seating in the near future.

Will there be any coaching sessions?

We are aiming to have a full coaching program for both padel and tennis, more details to follow soon.

Can I still play if I do not have three other people to play with?

You can book an open match through the Playtomic App which will then be visible for anyone else looking to play who also does not have a group of four. These matches can either be friendly, if you would just like a knock up, or competitive which will pair you with players of a similar ability and will impact your overall rating once you have played with them.

Is there a Padel WhatsApp group?

Yes, there is already a group with those who have joined as padel members or shown interest. This group can also be used to organise matches in the scenario set out in the previous question.

Will there be any social playing nights?

Yes, as things develop we will definitely look to organise these on a regular basis.

Is there a contact number for any queries/problems?
